Two Roswell homes, before and after

A ranch that kept its character

The tan siding on this single-story home had aged unevenly — faded across the front, tired around the garage and along the back. We took it off every wall and put back James Hardie: board & batten across the front, so the house still reads the way it always has, and horizontal lap siding on the garage side and the back. The whole exterior was painted a soft gray-taupe with white trim.

A two-story under the trees, beige to deep green

This contemporary home sits on a wooded lot, the kind you find all over Roswell, and its beige lap siding had gone flat and dull in the shade. It's now James Hardie lap siding in a deep green that sits back into the trees instead of fighting them. The stone base, the bay windows and the big back deck stayed; the siding, the paint and the roof are new.

What happens to your house, step by step

A siding replacement is loud for a few days and then it's done. This is the order the work goes in, so nothing catches you off guard.

  1. 01

We measure and write it down

We walk every wall, measure it, and note the trim and soffits. Within 24 hours you get a written quote with each line item priced.

  2. 02

    The old siding comes off

Wall by wall, down to the sheathing, so the structure underneath gets checked before anything new covers it.

  3. 03

The wall is sealed before the siding goes on

Weather barrier, flashing around windows and doors, new trim where it's needed. It's the part you never see and the part that keeps water out.

  4. 04

    New siding, then paint

James Hardie lap, board & batten, or a mix — installed by our own crews, then painted in the colors you picked. Most homes take 5–10 working days start to finish.

Lap, board & batten, or both?

Lap siding — long horizontal boards — is the classic look. Board & batten runs vertical and gives a house a crisper, more farmhouse feel.

You don't have to pick one. The ranch above has board & batten on the front, where it keeps the house's original look, and lap siding on every other wall.

On a wooded lot, color matters as much as style — the two-story above went from beige to a deep green that sits back into the trees. Bring the colors you're considering to the estimate and we'll hold them up against your house, not a screen.

Is your home in the Roswell Historic District?

If it is, Roswell's historic preservation ordinance requires a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Historic Preservation Commission before a material change to the appearance of a historic property — new siding counts; exterior paint alone doesn't. The city holds an orientation meeting with you before it accepts the application.

Ask the city for its application checklist; we'll supply the James Hardie product details it needs and plan the start date around the approval.
